Matt is president and founder of Plain-English Media. He has more than 20 years of experience with specialized content and journalism ventures, leading editorial, product, and marketing teams for B2B content businesses. He received his BA from the University of California at Los Angeles and his MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. About once a year he transforms into an exceptionally average, age-group triathlete. The rest of the year he is either working or spending time with his exceptionally excellent family and friends.
Jane Weber Brubaker, Executive Editor, Plain-English Health Care
Jane edits and writes for eHealthcare Strategy & Trends and Strategic Health Care Marketing and is chair of the eHealthcare Leaderships Awards. She has been a marketer and evangelist for digital marketing for more than 20 years. A past president of the Direct Marketing Club of New York, she led the industry in embracing digital marketing in the early 2000s and taught digital marketing as an adjunct professor at Mercy College. A freelance writer since 2009, Jane focuses exclusively on healthcare. She has an MBA in Marketing from the University of Connecticut, and a certificate in Health Information Technology from HIMSS. Jane lives in and works in Connecticut. She and her husband John, also a writer, live and work in Connecticut.
Jennifer Bullock, Customer Support Manager
Jennifer leads customer service for all of the Plain-English Media publications and websites. She has an MA in Conflict Resolution, and her career includes stints in the fields of community-based conflict resolution and non-profit administration. She lives in Alameda, California and is an active “PTA Mom” and volunteer in her two sons’ schools.
Jen Carsen, Coordinating Editor
Jen edits and project-manages Plain-English Media’s various publications (including in-depth reports and weekly ezines), writes and schedules social media posts, and generally helps keep the PEM trains running on track and on time. She is an alum of the New York University School of Law and Williams College and has been running her own B2B content writing and copywriting business for several years. Jen lives and works in Portsmouth, New Hampshire with her husband, Eric, and their two kids.
Gabriella Filisko, Editor, HOAleader.com
Gabriella has been a contractor for HOAleader.com for more than 10 years. She writes all the articles and special reports on HOAleader.com and moderates HOAleader.com’s webinars. She began her career as a reporter and then became a lawyer. Today, she combines her reporting and legal expertise to stay on top of emerging issues not only for HOAleader.com and its condo and HOA board members nationwide, but also for many other business clients. She lives and works in Chicago and in her spare time serves on the board of a national nonprofit that rescues more than 700 dogs each year.

Barb writes all of the articles and special reports for Community Association Management Insider. She has a law degree from Marquette University Law School and a master’s degree from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. She has put those to use as a freelancer for almost 20 years, writing on topics ranging from community associations to healthcare, employment law, intellectual property, nonprofits, tax, accounting, and real estate. Barb is a Chicago transplant who now roots for the Cubs and Bears from her home in Santa Monica, California.
Vince Ridley, VP of Business Development
Vince brings over 25 years of business development and B2B media experience to his position. Most recently, Vince was President of Extension Media, a B2B media and events business primarily focused on high-tech markets, where he was responsible for launching over 30 media and event brands and building a subscriber/membership database of nearly 200,000. Prior to that, Vince was Vice President of the Internet Division at Paperloop.com and was responsible for re-launching and expanding its online business. Vince has also held senior-level management and business development positions at Miller Freeman and CMP Media. He lives in San Francisco and enjoys spending time with his three children and coaching little league baseball.
